Enter the Dragonite.
Although essentially just a big blob of goo in the shape of a dragon, Goodra is not without its charm. It’s powerful, can learn an astounding array of attacks and loves hugs. What’s not to like?
Kingrda has a yawn strong enough to decimate small ships, and the ability to summon tornadoes on demand. Always useful.
8. Mega Ampharos
Mega Ampharos is a beautiful Dragon-type with vicious, electrical abilities. Interestingly, the red orbs in its wool emit a vibrant red light before it attacks. It’s nice to have some warning before you get owned.
Druddigon certainly isn’t the strongest Dragon-type on this list, but looking like a gothic gargoyle statue come to life, it definitely deserves its place in the top ten.
6. Mega Charizard X
Whilst far from the most popular member of the Charmander evolutionary line, Mega Charizard X is actually the only one to boast the noble Dragon-type. However, with an awesome blue colouration and some sort of inverted mouth-mustache, this ferocious Pokémon easily makes the list.
A giant dragon-bat with super speed. What more needs to be said?
With its three heads and extensive Dark move set, Hydreigon is one of the most terrifying Pokémon ever. Don’t look into its eyes.
Tyrantrum is the long overdue T-Rex inspired Pokémon introduced in X and Y. It looks seriously cool and learns some bone-crunching attacks. Extra points for the beard.
The original and some say still the best, Dragonite was actually the only fully evolved Dragon-type in the early Pokémon games. The perfect mixture of cuteness and strength, it may look like a cereal box mascot, but the super-powerful Dragonite is not to be messed with.
Perhaps a controversial choice over Dragonite, Rayquaza gets the top spot not only because of its immense stats, but because of a stunning, serpentine appearance strongly influenced by oriental mythology. On top of that, Rayquaza can live for hundreds of millions of years in Earth’s Ozone Layer, feeding on nothing but water molocules. And that rocks.
